Educational Philosophy

I believe that in order to be educated students need to feel that they belong.  They need to feel a part of a class and also in the school community. I feel that an effective teacher does not only have to uphold the education requirements that students need to succeed but the emotional ones as well.  Students with special needs should be made to feel that they are valuable and important in school.

I believe that a teacher needs to set ground rules that allow students to be successful.  These policies need to be enforced consistently.  Students need to understand what is expected of them and what will take place if those expectations are not met.

I believe a strong teacher will have the ability to carry out the necessary task of strong classroom management so that it does not interfere with the educational progress. These practices usually do not develop quickly. I feel with a strong work ethic and determination they accomplished. When respect is asked, given and demonstrated time and again a welcoming classroom is created. This is an atmosphere any type of student has the ability and tools to succeed.
